DMK president M.K. Stalin sharply criticized the Tamil Nadu government for chronic indecision, vacillation, and contradictory notifications regarding the reopening of schools amid persistent coronavirus infection risks. Observing that announcing hasty policy decisions without adequate foresight only to retract them under public outcry has become habitual for the AIADMK administration, Stalin stated that such erratic governance causes immense anxiety and panic among parents, teachers, and young students.
Stalin pointed out that public health experts and parent associations had repeatedly warned about the dangers of crowding educational institutions during unpredictable contagion phases. Instead of formulating a coherent, consultative roadmap focused on student safety, sanitization protocols, and hybrid learning options, the government created widespread confusion through arbitrary dates and uncoordinated circulars. Stalin urged Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to stop unsettling families and prioritize child health and safety above all bureaucratic considerations.
Stalin emphasized that administrative governance requires mature planning, empathetic consultation with educational stakeholders, and transparent scientific decision-making. He affirmed that an incoming DMK administration would restore stability, consult pedagogical experts regularly, and guarantee robust safety infrastructure across every state educational institution.
