DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the Union government for deliberately marginalizing the Tamil language in central institutions located within Tamil Nadu. Highlighting a glaring contradiction, Stalin pointed out that while the Tamil Nadu government provides prime state lands free of cost to establish Kendriya Vidyalaya schools, the central management stubbornly imposes restrictions against teaching Tamil to students. He demanded that authorities immediately order the compulsory instruction of Tamil from class one onwards in all central schools across the state.
Stalin further criticized central agencies for subordinating Tamil in essential public utility services, citing recent instances where regional language options were sidelined in automated telephone systems for domestic cooking gas cylinder bookings. He questioned why central authorities harbor such hostility toward one of the classical languages of India, urging the Bharatiya Janata Party government to shed its divisive linguistic chauvinism and respect regional diversity.
Asserting that the linguistic rights of the Tamil people cannot be trampled upon through administrative fiat, Stalin warned that attempts to impose Hindi while ignoring Tamil would face widespread democratic agitation. He affirmed the DMK's resolve to defend linguistic equality.
