Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin paid respectful homage to India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, on his birth anniversary, celebrated nationwide as Children's Day. Remembering Nehru as a visionary statesman whose deep concern for national progress was inextricably linked with the welfare of future generations, Stalin emphasized that safeguarding the rights, dignity, and creative potential of every child is the highest moral duty of democratic governance.

Stalin called for concerted societal and administrative action to prioritize children's welfare, ensure universal access to high-quality basic education, and completely eradicate the exploitative scourge of child labor across all industries. He pointed out that poverty and lack of educational infrastructure must never force young children out of classrooms into hazardous work environments. Stalin recalled that DMK governments under Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had pioneered numerous transformative student welfare initiatives, including nutritious midday meal programs, free textbook distribution, and public school upgrades.

Pledging that an incoming DMK administration would expand nutritional support, modernize school facilities, and guarantee safe developmental environments for all children, Stalin reiterated the party's unwavering dedication to social justice and child welfare.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
