DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned why Anna University Vice-Chancellor M.K. Surappa continues to occupy his administrative post despite the state government formally constituting an inquiry commission to investigate serious allegations of financial corruption and administrative irregularities against him. Stalin questioned whether behind-the-scenes political bargaining or a staged drama orchestrated by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami was shielding the controversial official from immediate statutory accountability.

Stalin demanded that Surappa be placed under immediate suspension and that all relevant institutional records, financial files, and appointment registers be secured under the direct custody of the inquiry commission headed by retired judge P. Kalaiyarasan. He pointed out that permitting an accused vice-chancellor to remain in office during an active graft probe severely compromises the integrity of the investigation, providing ample opportunity to tamper with critical evidence and intimidate subordinate university staff.

Stalin asserted that the prestige and academic autonomy of Anna University, built over decades as a premier technical institution, must not be degraded by institutional corruption. He reaffirmed that the DMK will persistently demand complete transparency and decisive legal action against all compromised university appointments.
