DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed grave alarm over the deteriorating law and order situation in Tamil Nadu, pointing out that three separate shooting incidents had occurred within a single week across the state. Questioning whether Tamil Nadu was being transformed into a violent northern state characterized by lawlessness, Stalin noted that the rampant circulation of illicit country-made firearms reflects a complete breakdown of administrative oversight and police intelligence networks under the AIADMK government.
Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, who holds the Home portfolio, for neglecting core public safety responsibilities while remaining preoccupied with personal public relations campaigns and political advertisements. He stressed that when criminals operate brazenly with lethal weapons in public places, ordinary citizens, traders, and women are left living under constant fear and insecurity. Stalin demanded that the state police department launch an immediate statewide crackdown to seize unauthorized weapons and neutralize organized criminal syndicates.
Stalin reiterated that maintaining professional, impartial policing is vital for safeguarding economic progress and public peace. He affirmed that an incoming DMK administration would restore strict law enforcement and root out criminal elements without political bias.
