DMK president M.K. Stalin issued an urgent directive to party functionaries, district secretaries, and youth wing cadres across coastal districts, instructing them to maintain round-the-clock preparedness to assist vulnerable populations during the impending landfall of Cyclone Nivar. Stalin urged party workers to cooperate actively with revenue, municipal, and disaster response teams in evacuating residents from vulnerable low-lying settlements to reinforced community halls and school shelters. He emphasized that protecting citizen lives and ensuring basic human safety remain the foremost democratic duty of public servants during severe environmental crises.

Stalin mandated the establishment of local party relief desks equipped to supply cooked food packets, boiled drinking water, essential baby milk, and basic medical aid to evacuees. He directed cadres to keep tree-cutting equipment, diesel dewatering pumps, and emergency transport vehicles on standby to help clear obstructed arterial routes and drain flooded residential lanes. Stalin stressed that compassionate solidarity, swift physical intervention, and coordinated community action represent the core traditions of the Dravidian movement.

Cadre mobilization was launched immediately across Chennai, Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Nagapattinam districts. Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will stand as a shield protecting the people of Tamil Nadu throughout the cyclonic storm.
