DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered the special address at a joint election campaign conference organized for Tenkasi and Tirunelveli districts under the Thamilagam Meetpom banner. Addressing thousands of party workers, agrarian delegates, and local weavers, Stalin outlined the DMK's development vision for southern Tamil Nadu, contrasting the region's rich economic potential with a decade of neglect under AIADMK rule. He emphasized that southern districts require aggressive agro-industrial investment, modernization of traditional weaving and beedi clusters, and rapid completion of pending irrigation projects.
Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for failing to create sustainable industrial employment, forcing southern youth to migrate to distant cities for basic livelihoods. He promised that an incoming DMK administration would revive the Tamirabarani river basin ecosystem, establish food processing parks in Tenkasi, and upgrade municipal health centers across Tirunelveli. Stalin stressed that comprehensive southern development is vital for balanced statewide prosperity and social justice.
The campaign gathering energized Secular Progressive Alliance constituents throughout the southern region. Stalin concluded by calling upon the electorate to reject AIADMK's misgovernance and secure a resounding DMK majority in 2021.
