DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered a stirring address at a massive demonstration organized in Salem under the DMK with Farmers campaign, condemning the Union BJP and state AIADMK governments for systematically undermining agricultural livelihoods. Stalin highlighted the plight of cultivating farmers across India who took to the streets to protest three corporate-oriented agricultural enactments. He criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for claiming to be a farmer while blindly endorsing central policies that eliminate guaranteed minimum support prices and dismantle regulatory agricultural markets.

Stalin asserted that the DMK has historically championed agrarian interests, recalling landmark DMK government initiatives that provided free electricity to agricultural pumpsets and waived farm loans across Tamil Nadu. He condemned the state government for supporting legislation that leaves peasant families at the mercy of large agribusiness conglomerates. Stalin declared that the Dravidian movement would never remain a passive bystander while agrarian rights are surrendered to corporate interests by a subservient state administration.

The rally drew thousands of enthusiastic party cadres and farmers from across Salem and neighboring districts. Stalin pledged sustained democratic resistance until farmer demands are fully conceded.
