DMK president M.K. Stalin extended warm greetings to agriculturalists across Tamil Nadu and India on National Farmers Day, honoring the tireless contributions of the nation food providers. Stalin emphasized that the DMK has historically stood as an unshakeable ally of peasant communities, pioneering transformative agrarian reforms under former chief minister M. Karunanidhi. He cited historic welfare milestones, including the introduction of free agricultural electricity, comprehensive farm loan waivers, the establishment of Uzhavar Sandhai direct farmers markets, and consistent increases in minimum support prices.

Stalin called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi to utilize the occasion of Kisan Diwas to announce the immediate repeal of the three contentious central farm laws. He noted that hundreds of thousands of farmers had been staging peaceful demonstrations in bitter winter weather along New Delhi borders, defending their livelihoods against corporate encroachment. Stalin affirmed that forcing unconstitutional agricultural laws on states without agrarian consensus undermines federalism and threatens national food security.

The statement won warm appreciation from peasant federations, farmer unions, and rural development advocates. Stalin pledged that the DMK will continue championing agrarian rights and farmer welfare resolutely.
