DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered the concluding valedictory address at the Periyar Social Justice Centenary Conference, an event marking a century of ideological struggle inspired by the rationalist reformer Thanthai Periyar E.V. Ramasamy. Addressing scholars, social activists, and party delegates, Stalin underscored that the foundational principles of the Self-Respect Movement—annihilation of caste oppression, gender equality, scientific temper, and universal reservation—remain the bedrock of Tamil Nadu modern social transformation.

Stalin observed that constitutional social justice protections are currently facing concerted attacks from regressive, communal forces operating at the national level. He emphasized that the Dravidian movement has historically mobilized democratic struggles to secure caste-based affirmative action, protect communal representation, and promote women emancipation. He warned that attempts to dismantle reservations or impose cultural uniformity must be resisted with unyielding ideological clarity.

Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will always remain the vanguard of Periyar enduring ideological legacy. He pledged that an incoming DMK government will steadfastly uphold social justice in public administration, expand affirmative reservations in higher education and employment, and ensure that every marginalized citizen enjoys dignity, equal opportunity, and self-respect.
