DMK president M.K. Stalin called upon Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to provide a clear guarantee that landless poor families will receive legitimate house-site pattas through officially organized Patta Melas. Stalin recalled that former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had enacted a historic government order stipulating that underprivileged families residing on unobjectionable poramboke lands for five consecutive years were legally eligible to receive free title deeds, ensuring housing security for thousands of marginalized households.

Stalin criticized the AIADMK administration for deliberately freezing the welfare scheme over the past decade, leaving vulnerable slum dwellers, rural laborers, and urban poor living under perpetual threat of eviction. He pointed out that with elections approaching, the ruling party had abruptly announced Patta Melas largely as a cosmetic political exercise. Stalin demanded transparency in the process to prevent ruling party functionaries from hijacking the scheme for partisan distribution.

Stalin insisted that the state administration must strictly ensure that genuine, economically disadvantaged occupants receive undisputed land titles without bureaucratic harassment. He affirmed that an incoming DMK government will systematically regularize residential holdings for all eligible poor families across Tamil Nadu.
