DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a major election campaign conference under the banner Thamilagam Meetpom, organized for the coastal and delta districts of Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur. Speaking to a large assembly of dedicated party workers, agricultural farmers, and local fisherfolk, Stalin launched a scathing critique of the AIADMK government record, explaining why residents across the Cauvery delta had adopted the campaign slogan We Reject ADMK.
Stalin highlighted the acute challenges confronting delta agriculture, including incomplete irrigation modernization, inadequate crop damage compensation during cyclones, and central hydrocarbon exploration projects that threatened fertile farmlands. He recalled the enduring historic contributions of former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi, who proudly represented Tiruvarur constituency and consistently championed peasant welfare and coastal fishing community rights. Stalin pointed out that under AIADMK rule, delta farmers had suffered from policy apathy, water disputes, and neglected river channels.
Stalin pledged that an incoming DMK government will make the Cauvery delta a protected agricultural zone in true letter and spirit. He promised comprehensive canal desilting, modern fishing harbors, and sustainable livelihood support to restore agrarian prosperity across Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur districts.
