DMK president M.K. Stalin challenged Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami over exaggerated claims regarding industrial investments in Tamil Nadu, citing an investigative report published by The Times of India. Stalin pointed out that while the AIADMK administration consistently boasted of signing hundreds of memoranda of understanding and attracting lakhs of crores in commercial investments, official data revealed that a meager 9.4 percent of the announced projects had actually materialized into tangible operations.
Stalin criticized the state government for squandering crores of rupees from public tax funds on extravagant full-page newspaper advertisements to manufacture a false impression of industrial dynamism. He asserted that the investigative findings effectively exposed the hollow propaganda of the ruling dispensation. Unemployed youth across the state had waited in vain for promised job creation while regional industrial infrastructure remained neglected and overall manufacturing growth stagnated.
Stalin affirmed that an incoming DMK administration will restore investor confidence through genuine policy stability, transparent single-window clearances, and proactive, accountable industrial governance. He pledged to revitalize Tamil Nadu traditional manufacturing corridors and generate high-quality employment opportunities for youth without deceptive publicity campaigns.
