DMK president M.K. Stalin presided over a well-attended Makkal Grama Sabha assembly at Siruvalur panchayat in Gobichettipalayam assembly constituency, situated in Erode district. The community interaction formed part of the DMK statewide mass outreach initiative under the banner We Reject ADMK. Agricultural laborers, banana and turmeric growers, and village women gathered in large numbers to voice their longstanding dissatisfaction with administrative neglect under the ruling AIADMK government.
During the open interactive session, residents voiced serious concerns regarding unfulfilled government infrastructure promises, including stalled drinking water supply schemes, deteriorating road connectivity between hamlets, poor maintenance of agricultural irrigation channels, and inadequate rural healthcare facilities. Stalin accepted written petitions directly from constituents, assuring them that each community demand would be systematically addressed once a new government is formed. He noted that the constituency, represented by School Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan, displayed evident signs of administrative complacency and neglect.
Stalin affirmed that democratic leadership requires continuous accountability to the electorate rather than cosmetic announcements. He promised that an incoming DMK administration will revitalize rural infrastructure, protect agrarian interests, and deliver prompt public grievance redressal across Gobichettipalayam.
