DMK president M.K. Stalin convened a vibrant Makkal Grama Sabha village assembly at Pathirikuppam panchayat in Cuddalore constituency, engaging directly with agricultural workers, rural families, and self-help group members. The grassroots meeting formed part of the DMK statewide campaign We Reject ADMK, organized to document localized public grievances and articulate community developmental demands. Hundreds of local residents attended the gathering to highlight systemic neglect by the ruling administration.
During the interactive session, village residents presented petitions detailing acute rural challenges, including inadequate irrigation supply, deteriorating village link roads, irregular municipal drinking water, and prolonged delays in granting welfare pensions. Stalin listened to each representation, assuring attendees that the DMK maintains a meticulous registry of district-level needs that will be prioritized immediately upon forming the next government.
Stalin criticized local AIADMK representatives for abandoning their rural constituencies once elections concluded. He affirmed that participatory rural democracy remains the core philosophy of the Dravidian movement. He promised that an incoming DMK administration will restore robust local body governance, upgrade rural infrastructure, and ensure that government benefits reach the grassroots without administrative corruption or political favoritism.
