DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered a sharp critique of the AIADMK administration urban governance record, issuing an appeal to urban citizens to reject the ruling party under the campaign banner We Reject ADMK. Stalin highlighted that a decade of administrative apathy and mismanaged municipal finances had severely degraded the living conditions of urban residents across Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchirappalli, and emerging municipal corporations. Basic amenities including piped drinking water, underground sewerage networks, stormwater drainage, and solid waste processing had suffered from chronic underfunding and bureaucratic delays.
Stalin observed that urban development projects announced by the ruling government existed largely on paper or remained mired in contractor irregularities. Rapid urban expansion had not been matched by essential planning, resulting in seasonal waterlogging, traffic gridlock, and substandard civic infrastructure. He pointed out that ordinary municipal taxpayers had been burdened with revised levies while receiving deteriorating public services in return.
Stalin promised that an incoming DMK administration will revitalize urban planning through comprehensive municipal modernization, transparent civic budgeting, and efficient service delivery. He pledged to make Tamil Nadu cities sustainable, livable, and technologically advanced growth centers.
