DMK president M.K. Stalin welcomed the arrest of a town-level AIADMK student wing secretary and his accomplices by the Central Bureau of Investigation in connection with the notorious Pollachi sexual assault and blackmail case. Stalin noted that the organized criminal racket had victimized hundreds of young women over a span of six to seven years. He asserted that the CBI actions confirmed the DMK longstanding accusation that ruling party functionaries were intimately involved in running the predatory syndicate.
Stalin criticized the state administration under Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, charging that the state police had previously attempted to dilute the case, intimidate victims, and protect implicated party affiliates. He emphasized that only relentless public demonstrations and judicial intervention had forced the transfer of the investigation to the central agency. Stalin demanded that the CBI conduct an uncompromised probe and ensure that no perpetrator or political patron escapes rigorous legal prosecution.
Stalin reaffirmed that the safety and dignity of women remain the paramount responsibility of any civilized government. He promised that an incoming DMK administration will restore impartial law enforcement and ensure uncompromising punishment for crimes against women.
