DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a direct public challenge to Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, accepting the latter bluster regarding an open debate on governmental integrity and administrative performance. Stalin pointed out the hypocrisy of the chief minister rhetoric, noting that the AIADMK administration had actively obtained judicial stay orders to block Central Bureau of Investigation inquiries into ministerial corruption allegations. He stated that genuine confidence requires facing legal scrutiny rather than evading accountability behind procedural technicalities.
Stalin challenged Palaniswami to withdraw the stay orders preventing CBI probes, secure formal sanction from the Governor of Tamil Nadu to investigate official graft complaints, and then fix a public time and venue for a comprehensive debate. Stalin stated that he is ready to stand alone and present exhaustive documentary evidence exposing extensive financial irregularities across highway tenders, municipal contracts, and welfare procurements executed during the AIADMK tenure.
Stalin affirmed that an administration stained by systemic kickbacks cannot evade popular judgment through evasive campaign challenges. He emphasized that the DMK will hold corrupt officials accountable before the electorate and ensure transparent public administration.
