Union Govt's rejection of the demands of protesting farmers today is extremely concerning and highly condemnable.
On behalf of the DMK, I express my continued support for the ongoing #FarmersProtest.
Once again, I urge the Union Govt to repeal the farm laws.
DMK president M.K. Stalin registered a forceful condemnation of the Union government following its outright rejection of the core demands presented by protesting farmers during official negotiation rounds in New Delhi. Stalin stated that the central government dismissive attitude toward agricultural representatives who had been camping peacefully along icy national highways was both deeply concerning and reprehensible. He noted that the rigid stance adopted by union ministers exposed a total disregard for the intense hardship endured by farm families.
Speaking on behalf of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Stalin reiterated the party steadfast, uninterrupted solidarity with the nationwide Farmers Protest movement. He pointed out that agricultural producers across Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu were united in their legitimate fear that deregulating agricultural produce markets would eliminate statutory Minimum Support Price protections and leave peasants vulnerable to private agribusiness conglomerates.
Stalin once again demanded that the Union government withdraw its obstinate position and completely repeal the three contentious agrarian statutes in Parliament. He emphasized that agricultural security is the cornerstone of national independence and must be defended with compassion and democratic humility.
