DMK president M.K. Stalin sharply criticized Fisheries Minister D. Jayakumar for chronic administrative neglect in his Royapuram assembly constituency. Stalin pointed out that while the minister consistently rushed to television microphones to issue political rejoinders and defend government lapses, he exhibited complete indifference toward resolving basic civic problems confronting local residents. Despite representing Royapuram as a legislator for multiple terms, Jayakumar had failed to deliver tangible developmental improvements to the historic constituency.
Stalin stated that the working-class families and fishing communities of Royapuram have suffered from deteriorating public amenities, inadequate sanitation, broken municipal roads, and acute drinking water shortages. He highlighted that widespread public disillusionment with ministerial inaction had led local residents to participate enthusiastically in DMK outreach campaigns and boldly chant the slogan We Reject ADMK.
Stalin asserted that elected representatives must be accountable to the voters who sent them to the legislative assembly rather than using public office for political theatrics. He assured the people of Royapuram that an incoming DMK administration will restore civic infrastructure, upgrade fishing harbor facilities, and prioritize grassroots public welfare across North Chennai.
