I am delighted to hear that the recruitment exams for Accountants in Postal Department will now be conducted in Tamil too. I thank the Hon'ble Minister @rsprasad for taking action.
The Union Govt must be mindful & include Tamil in all future Govt recruitment exams & procedures.
DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound satisfaction and welcomed the Union government decision to conduct recruitment examinations for accountants in the Department of Posts in Tamil. Stalin extended formal thanks to Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad for responding positively to widespread representations from Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that permitting candidates to take competitive government examinations in their native language eliminates systemic linguistic discrimination and guarantees equitable employment access for regional youth.
Stalin urged the central administration to adopt this inclusive policy universally across all Union ministries, departments, public sector enterprises, and nationalized banking institutions. He pointed out that conducting central recruitment tests exclusively in Hindi and English severely disadvantages talented non-Hindi-speaking candidates across various Indian states, violating constitutional equality and the federal spirit of the republic.
The announcement was hailed as a significant victory for the sustained linguistic advocacy spearheaded by the DMK and democratic civil society groups. Stalin affirmed that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will persistently advocate for constitutional amendments declaring all twenty-two regional languages in the Eighth Schedule as official languages of the Union with equal administrative parity.
