DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted an extensive We Reject ADMK Makkal Grama Sabha gathering at Patharai Panchayat in Kumarapalayam constituency, Namakkal district, represented by the electricity minister. The assembly witnessed strong participation from textile weavers, power loom operators, industrial workers, and agrarian families. Workers highlighted severe economic distress caused by unmitigated yarn price hikes, fluctuating electricity tariffs, lack of government yarn subsidies, and stagnant wages that crippled the renowned regional weaving industry.

Stalin addressed the gathering, emphasizing that the state government had completely abandoned the powerloom and textile sectors that provide livelihood to hundreds of thousands of families across western Tamil Nadu. He pointed out that while ministers amassed wealth, traditional manufacturing hubs were allowed to decay without modernization or marketing assistance. Stalin assured the textile community that an incoming DMK government will formulate dedicated policies to provide subsidized electricity, stable yarn pricing, and modernization support.

The meeting concluded with the unanimous passage of the We Reject ADMK resolution. Stalin reiterated that responsive industrial and labor policies will be implemented to restore economic vibrancy, dignified employment, and social security across Kumarapalayam.
