DMK president M.K. Stalin raised sharp questions regarding Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami sudden official visit to New Delhi to confer with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Stalin observed that while millions of farmers were protesting on freezing borders and Tamil Nadu students suffered under the burden of NEET, the chief minister never demonstrated any urgency to demand central interventions or defend state rights.
Instead, Stalin pointed out that Palaniswami rushed to the national capital only upon receiving news of V.K. Sasikala impending release from prison, driven by panic over preserving his fragile factional dominance within the ruling party. He criticized the chief minister for demeaning the dignity of his executive office by turning official administrative trips into private petitions for political survival and central political patronage.
Stalin demanded transparency, asking the chief minister to openly clarify the true agenda behind his Delhi meetings. He stated that the people of Tamil Nadu clearly recognize the self-serving priorities of the AIADMK leadership and will deliver a decisive verdict in the forthcoming assembly elections to restore regional self-respect.
