DMK president M.K. Stalin accused Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami of pushing Tamil Nadu into catastrophic public debt while rushing through questionable government procurement tenders to extract private financial commissions. Stalin revealed that the state administration had floated infrastructure and highway maintenance tenders valued at over 2,855 crore rupees in the final three months of its governing term alone, bypassing standard transparency protocols and competitive bidding safeguards.
Stalin pointed out that while the state exchequer faced unprecedented fiscal deficits and public borrowings accumulated to unmanageable levels, the ruling dispensation prioritized lucrative contracts for favored corporate syndicates over urgent public welfare needs. He described this eleventh-hour contracting frenzy as an unethical scramble to siphon public funds before leaving office, showing total disregard for the financial health and economic future of the state.
Stalin issued a stern warning that every irregular, overpriced, or collusive tender awarded during this period will be canceled immediately upon the DMK assuming administrative power. He reaffirmed that an incoming progressive government will initiate independent judicial probes to recover misappropriated public wealth and hold all corrupt officials and ministers accountable under law.
