DMK president M.K. Stalin officially launched the emblem and digital communication channels of the newly established DMK Environment Wing, inaugurating a dedicated organizational platform for ecological advocacy. Stalin conveyed warm felicitations to the wing newly appointed secretary, Karthikeya Sivasenapathy, and all office-bearers tasked with championing ecological conservation across Tamil Nadu. He articulated the foundational guiding vision of the wing as development in harmony with nature, balancing industrial progress with ecological stewardship.
Stalin outlined key environmental challenges confronting the state, including climate change impacts, groundwater depletion, coastal erosion, deforestation, and industrial pollution. He instructed the wing to actively mobilize youth, researchers, and local communities to monitor environmental violations, promote afforestation, protect traditional water bodies, and resist destructive commercial projects that threaten rural ecosystems. Stalin emphasized that progressive Dravidian politics must integrate ecological justice with social equity and economic modernization for future prosperity.
The launch marked a pioneering initiative by a regional political party to establish an institutional framework dedicated to sustainability. Stalin invited citizens, environmentalists, and students to engage actively through the wing digital platforms to safeguard natural resources throughout Tamil Nadu.
