DMK president M.K. Stalin commended the party student wing for successfully organizing commemorative homage meetings across all districts in Tamil Nadu to observe Language Martyrs Day. Stalin recalled the heroic sacrifices of students and youth who gave their lives during the historic anti-Hindi agitations to protect the linguistic identity, cultural dignity, and democratic rights of the Tamil people. He highlighted that preserving mother tongue rights remains an foundational, inviolable tenet of the Dravidian self-respect movement.
Stalin noted that speakers, student leaders, and senior party functionaries participated enthusiastically in memorial rallies, demonstrating the enduring ideological vitality of the DMK cadre base. He emphasized that in the face of renewed attempts at linguistic centralization and cultural uniformity by the Union government, remembering the bravery of language martyrs is more vital than ever. The meetings reaffirmed the commitment of the younger generation to defend linguistic equality, pluralism, and educational freedom across the state.
The statewide observance underscored the DMK role as the foremost guardian of Tamil language and regional pride. Stalin urged students and youth cadres to carry forward this heritage of resolute cultural and constitutional resistance with dedication.
