DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed grave concern over the distressing events that unfolded during the farmers tractor rally in the national capital on Republic Day. Stalin asserted that the Union government stubborn, unyielding stance toward agriculturalists genuine demands was the root cause of the prolonged tension and subsequent confrontations. He noted that had the ruling dispensation engaged in transparent, empathetic dialogue instead of stonewalling farmers for months, such unfortunate disruptions would have been entirely prevented and avoided.
Stalin emphasized that the controversial farm laws would never have passed in Parliament without the crucial legislative support provided by the AIADMK. He cautioned that outbreaks of violence only serve the government agenda to divert public attention from legitimate grievances and discredit a historic agrarian movement. Stalin appealed to all parties to uphold constitutional principles, avoid confrontation, and pursue an immediate, peaceful solution through constructive democratic engagement and mutual understanding.
Stalin reiterated that repealing the farm laws remains the only just and permanent path forward for Indian agriculture. He affirmed that the DMK will persistently champion agricultural rights through peaceful, constitutional avenues until agrarian livelihood security is guaranteed for all farmers.
