DMK president M.K. Stalin questioned the moral legitimacy of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam in inaugurating a public memorial for former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa. Stalin pointed out that Panneerselvam had initially launched a public rebellion and held a meditation protest alleging foul play in Jayalalithaa hospitalization, yet repeatedly avoided appearing before the official commission of inquiry after regaining administrative power. He described this political turnabout as transparent duplicity designed to preserve ministerial offices.
Stalin highlighted that individuals accused in the violent Kodanad estate break-in and subsequent murders had publicly associated with senior government leaders. He argued that the ruling establishment had systematically obstructed investigations into these serious crimes to shield influential figures from accountability. Stalin asserted that an administration tainted by such grave compromises has no ethical standing to celebrate Jayalalithaa legacy while burying the truth behind her passing.
Stalin assured the people of Tamil Nadu that an incoming DMK government will conduct fair, thorough, and uncompromised investigations into both matters. He affirmed that legal justice and institutional transparency will be completely restored.
