DMK president M.K. Stalin criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for attempting a superficial cosmetic makeover of the long-dormant Amma Call Centre initiative, which had remained non-functional since its initial launch in 2016. Stalin noted that only after the DMK launched its successful Ungal Thogaiyil Stalin outreach initiative, collecting millions of petitions directly from citizens, did the ruling dispensation scramble to rebrand the failed project by simply dropping former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa name from the scheme title.

Stalin questioned the spending of massive amounts of taxpayers money on full-page newspaper advertisements and promotional campaigns for an administrative mechanism that had consistently failed to resolve citizen complaints. He pointed out that the public was fully aware of the stark contrast between authentic grassroots engagement and staged government publicity stunts. Stalin emphasized that real governance required political will, administrative accountability, and genuine public empathy, rather than hollow pre-election marketing campaigns designed to deceive voters.
