DMK president M.K. Stalin sharply criticized Municipal Administration Minister S.P. Velumani during an Ungal Thogaiyil Stalin outreach meeting held in Coimbatore. Stalin accused the minister and Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami of turning the industrial district into a personal fiefdom through systemic extortion and administrative intimidation. He stated that unnecessary flyovers were being constructed purely to secure lucrative contractor kickbacks, squandering public money while neglecting genuine infrastructure priorities across the western region of Tamil Nadu.
Addressing an audience of local citizens and party workers, Stalin pledged that a DMK administration would dismantle entrenched corruption networks and protect whistleblowers. He declared that curbing political high-handedness and rowdyism would serve as his administration first executive priority once sworn into office. Stalin assured residents that every dubious tender and inflated civic contract cleared under the AIADMK regime would face impartial judicial investigation, with guilty officials held strictly accountable under the law.
The campaign meeting reflected widespread voter discontent over municipal governance across western Tamil Nadu. Stalin reaffirmed his commitment to transparent urban development, equitable industrial progress, and corruption-free administration for all sections of Coimbatore society.
