Addressing a massive gathering during the Ungal Thoguthiyil Stalin tour on February 27, 2021, DMK president M.K. Stalin presented a comprehensive indictment of the joint failures of the BJP-led Union government and the AIADMK administration. Stalin stated that no section of Tamil Nadu society remained unaffected by the regressive policies of the twin regimes. He pointed to agrarian distress among farmers, closure of handloom weaving clusters, widespread job losses in industrial belts, skyrocketing commodity prices, and flawed GST structures that crushed small enterprises.
Stalin condemned the erosion of women self-employment opportunities and criticized the imposition of NEET and the National Education Policy, which systematically erected barriers against underprivileged rural students pursuing higher education. He affirmed that the ruling alliance had destroyed the peace and economic dignity of common citizens. Stalin asserted that an incoming DMK administration would champion state rights, revive rural livelihoods, protect traditional artisanal industries, and guarantee educational equity for every child in Tamil Nadu.
The critique captured the deep-seated frustration felt by working families across the state. Stalin decisive message reinforced the DMK standing as a progressive political alternative committed to restoring Tamil Nadu social welfare and economic sovereignty.
