DMK president M.K. Stalin commemorated the historic anniversary of March 6, 1967, when former Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai took oath in Tamil, marking the first time a regional political party formed a state government in independent India. Stalin paid homage to Anna transformative leadership, recalling how the pioneer renamed the state Tamil Nadu and spearheaded profound social and administrative reforms. He noted that Anna vision of self-respect, federalism, and social justice laid the durable foundations for the modern developmental achievements of the southern state.

Turning to present political conditions, Stalin sharply criticized the incumbent AIADMK government for mortgaging state rights to the Union government. He accused the ruling dispensation of compromising regional interests on crucial matters including NEET, GST revenue sharing, and language rights, reducing Tamil Nadu to administrative subservience. Stalin called upon the people to defeat the corrupt regime and re-establish a self-respecting government dedicated to the noble ideals championed by Anna and Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi.

The commemorative appeal invigorated party workers across Tamil Nadu ahead of the assembly election. Stalin reaffirmed the DMK steadfast commitment to federalism, democratic rights, and linguistic pride.
