Paying profound homage on the first death anniversary of veteran DMK General Secretary Professor K. Anbazhagan on March 7, 2021, party president M.K. Stalin remembered the towering Dravidian ideologue as a peerless pillar of the self-respect movement. Stalin described Professor Anbazhagan as a cherished student of Thanthai Periyar, a beloved younger brother to Perarignar Anna, and an inseparable ideological comrade to former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi. He highlighted that Anbazhagan nine-decade public life stood as an unblemished testament to ideological steadfastness, intellectual clarity, and selfless devotion to the Tamil language.
Stalin asserted that the true tribute to the revered Professor lay in defeating sectarian, communal, and subservient political forces in the forthcoming legislative assembly elections. He called upon party cadres and progressive allies to take a solemn vow to secure a decisive victory for social justice, federal autonomy, and egalitarian values. Stalin emphasized that Anbazhagan teachings on secular democracy and rationalist thought would continue to illuminate the party political path.
The tribute resonated deeply with party veterans and young cadres alike. Stalin heartfelt remembrance reaffirmed the foundational moral and ideological values guiding the DMK as it prepared for the assembly elections.
