DMK president M.K. Stalin placed job creation at the center of his governance agenda on March 24, 2021, severely criticizing the AIADMK administration for failing educated youth across Tamil Nadu. Stalin accused the ruling regime of squandering hundreds of crores of public money on lavish Global Investors Meets that produced negligible real investments and zero substantial employment. He condemned the regime for allowing key public sector jobs and state recruitment vacancies to be allocated to applicants from outside the state, leaving local graduates unemployed.
Stalin affirmed that generating durable, high-quality jobs would be the foremost priority of a DMK administration. He committed to enacting legislation reserving 75 percent of jobs in local industries for residents of Tamil Nadu, filling over 3.5 lakh vacant positions across state government departments, and establishing modern skill development institutes in every district. Stalin stated that transparent, merit-based examinations would replace commercialized recruitment rackets, restoring dignity and confidence to hardworking students and young job seekers.
The announcement was widely welcomed by student organizations, unemployed graduates, and working-class families. Stalin progressive employment roadmap demonstrated his practical vision to empower youth and revitalize the state industrial economy.
