Directly confronting the subservience of the ruling dispensation, DMK president M.K. Stalin posed a series of trenchant questions to Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami on April 1, 2021, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi joint campaign rally in Tamil Nadu. Stalin challenged Palaniswami to exhibit minimal political backbone by openly demanding the repeal of the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act and the three controversial farm laws directly from the Prime Minister on stage.
Stalin further demanded whether Palaniswami possessed the courage to seek immediate permanent exemption for Tamil Nadu from the discriminatory National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), secure the release of the seven Rajiv Gandhi assassination case convicts, and obtain long-overdue central disaster relief funds. He ridiculed the Chief Minister hollow election postures, pointing out that AIADMK leaders consistently supported anti-people Union legislation in Parliament while shedding crocodile tears before Tamil Nadu voters. Stalin asked whether Palaniswami dared to ask these essential questions even while remaining subserviently bowed.
Stalin fearless challenge stripped away the ruling coalition electoral pretense, refocusing public attention on vital federal autonomy and state rights. His uncompromising defense of Tamil interests established a clear contrast between passive political subservience and vigilant, courageous Dravidian leadership.
