Responding warmly to representations submitted by social activists immediately after he sanctioned zero-fare bus travel for women, Stalin thanked them for bringing the matter to his direct attention.

The Chief Minister recalled that the DMK government under former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi had created the country first Transgender Welfare Board, setting a national benchmark for recognizing transgender identity, dignity, and socioeconomic rights. Stalin affirmed that his administration remains instinctively committed to integrating the welfare of sexual minorities alongside women empowerment initiatives. He assured that transport authorities were directed to formalize executive modalities swiftly so that trans women could commute without fares on state-operated city and town buses.
