Stalin visited Madurai to inaugurate a massive 500-bed oxygen-supported Covid-19 treatment facility at the Government Thoppur Hospital. Built rapidly to cater to escalating caseloads across Madurai, Dindigul, Theni, and Virudhunagar districts, the center was equipped with continuous high-flow oxygen supply systems, modern patient monitoring devices, and comprehensive triage infrastructure.
Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the clinical blocks and conducted an intensive review with southern regional medical administrators, assessing pharmaceutical inventories and oxygen storage tank reserves. Stalin announced that the state government is consistently scaling up specialized treatment infrastructure in every district to guarantee that no patient experiences lack of medical oxygen or hospital admission.
