Demonstrating attentive concern for vulnerable demographic groups during the pandemic, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin visited Nemam village in Tiruvallur district to conduct an on-site inspection of a specialized Covid-19 treatment center designed exclusively for pregnant women and lactating mothers. Recognizing the heightened physiological vulnerability and specialized obstetric requirements of expectant mothers contracting the virus, Stalin reviewed clinical monitoring systems, labor ward safeguards, neonatal emergency equipment, and maternity healthcare protocols.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister also observed the progress of the local vaccination campaign, interacting warmly with visiting mothers and encouraging women to undergo vaccination safely. Stalin paid heartfelt tribute to doctors, staff nurses, midwives, and sanitation personnel, describing healthcare staff serving across primary health centers and tertiary government hospitals as the true foundation of societal well-being and public hope. He assured medical teams that the state government is committed to providing comprehensive protective equipment, psychological support, and institutional backing.
Stalin compassionate field inspection highlighted his administration deep commitment to safeguarding maternal and child health during crises. By prioritizing dedicated medical facilities for pregnant women, his leadership established an inclusive healthcare response that protected vulnerable mothers and newborns across rural Tamil Nadu.
