Expanding urban clinical infrastructure to consolidate pandemic containment, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a dedicated 100-bed oxygen-supported Covid-19 treatment center at Bharati Women College in North Chennai. Established in technical partnership with the prestigious Government Stanley Medical College Hospital, this specialized healthcare facility was outfitted with continuous oxygen lines, dedicated clinical monitoring systems, and resident medical staff to treat moderate viral infections efficiently.
Following the inauguration, the Chief Minister inspected the patient wards and held discussions with senior medical specialists regarding clinical protocols and treatment outcomes. Stalin announced that rigorous containment protocols, door-to-door symptom screening, and enhanced testing had successfully brought Covid-19 transmission under firm control within the Chennai metropolitan area. He affirmed that the state government is now deploying identical focused strategies, supplementary medical personnel, and extensive logistical resources to rapidly suppress viral spread across western and southern districts.
Stalin targeted healthcare interventions in North Chennai reflected his dedication to equitable medical care for densely populated urban neighborhoods. By rapidly establishing decentralized oxygen treatment wards, his administration decongested major tertiary hospitals and ensured timely clinical care for working-class communities.
