Prioritizing public health discipline above political fanfare, Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin addressed a special Letter to Brethren to party cadres statewide ahead of the 98th birth anniversary of Muthamizharignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi. Stalin issued an unequivocal directive instructing party workers, district functionaries, and elected representatives to strictly refrain from organizing public rallies, putting up cut-outs, or holding mass celebrations that could breach Covid-19 safety regulations.
The Chief Minister stressed that during a grave epidemic crisis, the greatest and most meaningful tribute one can pay to the memory of Kalaignar is to serve the impoverished and distressed. Stalin urged party workers to obtain necessary police permissions, strictly avoid crowd accumulation, observe social distancing, and distribute food, dry rations, and medical aid quietly and respectfully to families in need. He reminded cadres that public health discipline reflects the true dignity and ideological maturity of the Dravidian movement.
Stalin responsible directive set a shining example of principled political leadership during a public crisis. By subordinating party celebrations to public safety guidelines, his message reinforced citizen trust and ensured that anniversary commemorations directly benefited distressed citizens without endangering public health.
