Addressing severe vaccine shortages impacting immunization campaigns across the state, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin dispatched an urgent official communication to Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. Stalin pointed out that central vaccine allocations to Tamil Nadu remained grossly disproportionate to its substantial population and demonstrated healthcare delivery absorption capacity, causing avoidable supply disruptions and forcing primary health centers to turn away eager citizens.
The Chief Minister urgently requested the Union Government to dispatch adequate vaccine consignments immediately to rectify the supply deficit and meet the soaring public demand for inoculation. Stalin forcefully reiterated his appeal to the Centre to operationalize the Integrated Vaccine Complex at Chengalpattu near Chennai without further bureaucratic procrastination, offering full state financial and operational partnership to commence indigenous vaccine production. He stressed that commissioning this state-of-the-art central biopharmaceutical complex would significantly expand national manufacturing output, ensuring steady supplies for southern states and fortifying India pandemic defense.
Stalin proactive advocacy highlighted his relentless struggle to protect citizen health. By demanding fair federal resource distribution and championing the revival of domestic scientific infrastructure, his leadership defended state interests with strategic clarity.
