Demonstrating compassionate administrative responsiveness to coastal tragedy, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin sanctioned a substantial financial solatium of twenty lakh rupees each to the legal heirs of twenty-one Tamil Nadu fishermen who went missing during severe cyclonic storm Tauktae in the Arabian Sea. The fishermen had ventured into deep-sea waters from western coastal harbors before the catastrophic storm struck, remaining untraceable despite intensive aerial and naval search operations conducted by Indian Coast Guard helicopters and naval vessels since mid-May.
Recognizing the deep despair and acute financial vulnerability confronting the bereaved coastal families, the Chief Minister directed the immediate disbursement of the relief funds to secure their long-term domestic sustenance, debt clearance, and children schooling. Stalin conveyed the heartfelt condolences of the entire state to the grieving families, assuring them that the DMK government stands firmly as their guardian. He instructed fisheries authorities to modernize deep-sea tracking devices, distribute satellite communication transmitters, and upgrade real-time maritime weather warning networks to protect seafaring fishermen from unpredictable offshore weather events.
Stalin generous relief package provided vital economic stability to distressed coastal families. By acting swiftly to heal maritime tragedy, his leadership reaffirmed an unwavering commitment to the welfare and dignity of fishing communities.
