Extending compassionate governmental support to religious service personnel facing severe livelihood loss during pandemic closures, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched a special welfare distribution scheme at the Secretariat in Chennai for temple staff administered by the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. Under this timely relief initiative, Stalin provided a cash grant of four thousand rupees, ten kilograms of quality rice, and fifteen varieties of essential grocery items to temple priests, bhattacharyas, musicians, and auxiliary temple workers.
The Chief Minister highlighted that prolonged public health restrictions and temple closures had deprived thousands of traditional archakas and staff of daily devotee offerings and customary livelihoods. Stalin affirmed that his administration governs with universal benevolence for all sections of society, ensuring that no worker who depends on temple rituals faces economic starvation or destitution during unexpected crises. Beneficiary representatives expressed deep gratitude for the proactive assistance, praising the Chief Minister for recognizing their domestic hardships and delivering immediate economic solace with dignified respect.
Stalin inclusive welfare initiative illustrated an administration committed to sheltering all working people without distinction. By extending state protection to temple workers, his leadership demonstrated holistic compassion and responsive social responsibility.
