Commemorating the 126th birth anniversary of the venerated Muslim leader and freedom fighter Quaid-e-Millath Muhammad Ismail, Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin visited his memorial dargah in Triplicane, Chennai, paying solemn floral homage. Stalin recalled the legendary statesman enduring contributions to the Indian freedom struggle, his steadfast opposition to Hindi imposition in the Constituent Assembly, and his deep, affectionate brotherhood with former Chief Minister Muthamizharignar Kalaignar M. Karunanidhi.
The Chief Minister described Quaid-e-Millath as a gentle breeze of dignity and an uncompromising champion of Tamil linguistic rights who advocated making Tamil an official language of the Union of India. Stalin affirmed that the DMK government governs firmly along the path of communal harmony and secular fraternity nurtured by Quaid-e-Millath and Dravidian leaders, resolutely opposing divisive forces attempting to disrupt social peace. He called upon citizens to uphold interfaith unity, mutual respect, and social justice as the indispensable foundations for Tamil Nadu enduring socio-economic progress.
Stalin dignified homage reinforced the enduring historic alliance between the Dravidian movement and religious minority communities. By celebrating Quaid-e-Millath legacy of secular brotherhood, his leadership renewed Tamil Nadu pledge of communal harmony and inclusive democracy.
