Following extensive multi-stakeholder consultations with educational experts, medical specialists, teachers associations, and political party representatives, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin announced the cancellation of the Tamil Nadu Class 12 State Board examinations. Prioritizing the physical health and psychological wellbeing of students above conventional administrative routines, Stalin stated that conducting physical exams amidst the dangerous second wave of Covid-19 would expose young learners and their families to severe infection risks.
To protect the academic future and collegiate aspirations of graduating students, the Chief Minister announced the immediate formation of a specialized committee of senior educational administrators and pedagogic scholars to design an objective, fair evaluation methodology. Stalin assured that higher education admissions for arts, science, and professional degree courses across state universities would proceed seamlessly based on the standardized scores calculated by the expert committee. He encouraged students to focus calmly on future career preparations, assuring parents that transparent administrative mechanisms would prevent any unfair academic disadvantage.
Stalin compassionate and decisive decision brought profound relief to nearly eight lakh students across Tamil Nadu. By balancing educational continuity with uncompromising health protection, his leadership prioritized human lives during an extraordinary crisis.
