Demonstrating his government steadfast commitment to agrarian prosperity, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin unveiled a comprehensive Kuruvai Special Cultivation Package worth 61.09 crore rupees tailored specifically for farmers in the Cauvery delta districts. The extensive agricultural package provides substantial input subsidies, certified high-yielding paddy seeds, micronutrient mixtures, and specialized farm implements to ensure a bountiful short-term summer harvest across Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Mayiladuthurai, and adjoining agricultural zones.

The Chief Minister highlighted that more than two lakh delta farming families will benefit directly from subsidized farm inputs, including mechanized paddy transplanters and power weeders distributed through primary agricultural cooperative credit societies. By synchronizing the release of Mettur reservoir irrigation waters with prompt input delivery and canal desilting, the administration created ideal conditions for farmers to expand acreage and boost paddy productivity.
