Addressing the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin reiterated his government unyielding opposition to controversial central legislations that harm agricultural livelihoods and undermine constitutional secularism. Stalin declared that the DMK administration maintains a steadfast stance demanding the total repeal of the three contentious central Farm Laws by the Union government, alongside the immediate revocation of the discriminatory Citizenship Amendment Act that threatens religious minorities and Sri Lankan Tamil refugees.
The Chief Minister officially announced that during the forthcoming budget session of the State Assembly, the government will table and adopt formal statutory resolutions urging the Union government to repeal these regressive central laws. Stalin highlighted that the farm legislations jeopardize farmers food security, eliminate minimum support price guarantees, and leave cultivators vulnerable to corporate agribusinesses, while the citizenship amendment violates fundamental equality principles. He affirmed that the state legislature possesses a moral duty to give democratic expression to public dissent.
Stalin decisive announcement was hailed by agricultural unions, minority welfare organizations, and civil society groups across Tamil Nadu. By committing legislative power to support struggling farmers and protect secular harmony, Stalin reinforced his administration identity as a bulwark of democratic rights and people welfare.
