Following the unavoidable cancellation of the Class 12 higher secondary public examinations due to the severe second wave of Covid-19, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially announced a comprehensive, objective marks calculation methodology formulated by a high-level committee of academic experts. Stalin extended his heartfelt wishes and encouragement to all school students, inspiring them to pursue their higher education aspirations and career ambitions with undiminished confidence and determination.
The scientifically structured evaluation framework assigns a fifty percent weightage to Class 10 board examination marks across the top three performing subjects, twenty percent weightage to Class 11 theory board examinations, and thirty percent weightage to Class 12 practical examinations and internal school assessments. This balanced formula was designed to ensure fairness, protect students academic progression, and prevent any loss of academic year while safeguarding youth health during the pandemic. Provisions were also made for students wishing to appear for optional physical examinations later.
Stalin thoughtful and prompt policy intervention brought immense relief to over eight lakh students and their anxious families. By prioritizing both youth physical safety and transparent academic progression, his administration demonstrated responsible, compassionate educational leadership during unprecedented public health crises.
