#MekedatuDam https://t.co/aw7GaJlqGR

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin convened a historic all-party meeting of legislative leaders at the Secretariat in Chennai, demonstrating complete political unity across Tamil Nadu to oppose the Karnataka government unilateral attempts to construct a balancing reservoir across the Cauvery River at Mekedatu. The meeting concluded with the unanimous adoption of comprehensive resolutions declaring that the Cauvery is the non-negotiable lifeline of Tamil Nadu agricultural economy and agrarian survival.
The Chief Minister asserted that the proposed Mekedatu project violates final Supreme Court judgments, contravenes the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal award, and threatens to imperil lower riparian agricultural survival across the fertile delta districts. Stalin emphasized that every political party in Tamil Nadu speaks with one unified voice, warning both the Union government and Karnataka that any attempt to impound river flows without Tamil Nadu consent will be legally and politically resisted with utmost resolve.
Stalin decisive consensus-building showcased his mature statesmanship and steadfast guardianship of state interests. By uniting divergent political ideologies on a common platform to defend water sovereignty, his leadership sent an unmistakable message to New Delhi and Bengaluru that Tamil Nadu will never compromise on its historic riparian rights.
