Chief Minister M.K. Stalin released the official architectural design and structural model of the grand memorial commemorating former Chief Minister and Dravidian literary icon Muthamizharignar M. Karunanidhi on Chennai Marina Beach. Describing Kalaignar as a radiant sun who ruled the cultural and literary sphere through his prolific pen while illuminating Tamil politics with unwavering ideological conviction, Stalin stated that the upcoming memorial will symbolize his immense historical footprint.

The architectural layout integrates modern environmental design with traditional Dravidian motifs, featuring a magnificent entrance canopy shaped like a rising sun, illuminated landscaped gardens, reflective water bodies, and interactive exhibition pavilions. Within the memorial complex, visitors will be able to explore Karunanidhi multifaceted life through archival photographs, digitised literary manuscripts, historic legislative speeches, and dynamic audiovisual displays depicting his seven-decade political journey. Stalin emphasized that the monument serves as an enduring tribute to the chief architect of modern Tamil industrial and social infrastructure.

Stalin unveiling of the memorial design elicited enthusiastic admiration from citizens, historians, and literary enthusiasts worldwide. By creating a world-class public memorial along the Marina shoreline, his administration honors Karunanidhi legacy and inspires future generations to embrace progressive public service.
